Wundaweb For Your Clothes Care!

By Laura Wimble

We all love our clothes very much. But sometimes our clothes have to be altered and Velcro Hemming tape would be needed. To remove wundaweb from clothing one of the following methods could be chosen: -

1. Pressing of the Cloth: All you need is a soft, clean and thoroughly damp pressing cloth that for each pressing with a hot iron you should re-wet and make it damp. Damp cloth is good for creasing of the clothes when pressing with a hot iron.

a) With the soft, clean cloth cover the area of web, to remove afterwards.

b) The cloth should be covered with a damp pressing cloth and press with a hot, dry iron until the soft cloth is very damp and hot.

c) By the time the soft cloth seems to be too damp and hot it should be removed sharply from the cloth. Your that action will remove the unwanted web from the cloth.

d) You can repeat the above three steps to completely remove the web. Just repeat, repeat and repeat.

Notes to be considered: A clean part of cloth should be used for each pressing and care should be taken not to contaminate the fabric from other areas of the cloth already used for removing the web.

2: Using Isopropyl-Alcohol solution:

Suggestion for the people is to buy a few milliliters of Isopropyl-Alcohol, obtainable from chemists and make up a solution of this by adding 10% volume of water and gently warming the resultant mixture (9 parts Isopropyl-Alcohol to 1 part water). The affected area should then be dabbed lightly with a soft cloth using a blotter behind to catch the surplus solution. Repeat this action until the residue is removed.

Important Note: It is strongly recommended that one try this solution on a small piece of fabric before using overall.

The wundaweb is perfect for many works on clothing, works on almost all the fabrics and it can be removed. It is dry clean eligible and washable fine fusible fleece that feels like a gauze that binds the fabric together providing a firmly natural joined finish. One can use it to put the hems on jeans and skirt like dresses. It comes in smaller and longer lengths. To repair trouser pockets, one would recommend it to any house woman who copes with such tedious jobs.

May be the wondaweb or Velcro Hemming tape sticks on to the bottom of the iron plate. Then it should be immediately wiped clean with a dry cotton, or else it would leave residue marks on the plate of the iron. There would be the risk of having the same with any other cloth that will be ironed. And if the bonds have to be broken in order to again extend the curtain to fit longer lengths, then the damp will need to placed again, out a hot iron for 10 seconds, and just peeling apart the fabric would be left.
