The Truth about the Ice Cream Diet

By Ron Stucky

Ok, here's something for you - this diet, the Ice Cream Diet, is an approach where you can enjoy your ice cream, every day, and still manage to lose weight. It's very common knowledge that ice cream will make you gain weight, and the creator of this diet is saying you don't have to give it up. We saw this and wanted to get down to find out if the Ice Cream Diet is a cruel joke, or if it's something that's real.

Ok, well much to our surprise the Ice Cream Diet is a diet consisting of low daily calories. The plan includes daily eating of lean meat, fresh fruits and vegetables plus your daily allowance of ice cream. What the ice cream represents is a built-in reward system for being disciplined about your diet. Beyond this, however, ice cream actually has some nutritional value. Ice cream, obviously, has dairy/milk in it - so there is some calcium plus a little protein. So it really is accurate to say you'll gain a bit more in nutritional value from the Ice Cream Diet. So that is the reasoning behind adding daily ice cream. There is nothing complicated or hard about this diet, and almost anyone can do it. The overall diet is made easier because it isn't necessary to buy any diet meals that cost a lot. The meal suggestions are designed to keep you within a range of calories every day, and that is part of the key to losing weight. The fun part is you actually are encourage to eat some ice cream each day. We believe the Ice Cream Diet plan looks quite solid, despite the name, and all anyone has to do is get regular exercise and eat according to their plan.

But, the Ice Cream Diet name seems like it can lead people astray, at least initially. There still is, however, the emphasis on low daily caloric intake, but you can eat a bit of the good stuff, too. It is "not" accurate to think the diet is based on eating ice cream, and we've tried to make that clear.

People could also get the wrong impression and think the diet is fake and it only makes you fatter - no! The thing is a lot of people will embark on something without doing the necessary homework. Just like with so many other diets, you will be required to limit daily calories and get regular exercise.

You'll need to take positive action every day, but the Ice Cream Diet is a unique approach that most certainly will work, if you do. However... please do not sabotage your efforts by eating more ice cream than the book suggests. Ok? The attraction of this diet is the daily ice cream breaks things up, gives you a little something each day, and you won't feel like you're in boot camp, or wherever.
