The nurse should be able to attain new job opportunities after one has gained a higher degree. For example, a lot of the professionals who have started employed in a hospital job eventually transfers to a research job when they gain a higher degree. They can even move on into specialty careers of their own choosing.

Getting a higher degree is also the same as considering the future of the licensing law. Nowadays, the certification of the RNs needs to be renewed over and over again. However, this will be a different matter when one has gotten a higher degree. Matters will be a lot different from each other.

Another advantage to having a higher education is in the transitioning of licenses. Those people who possess an RN license can easily transition to a BSN or MSN degree when they want to as long as they get through this program. It will also be advantageous for those people planning to establish themselves in a full time job of their own choosing.

The employers nowadays are more focused on hiring professionals with higher degrees too. They prefer to have a degree holder to hold down a certain job instead of a certificate holder since they have better knowledge about the job. They will also offer a job with a higher pay to those people holding higher degrees.

There should be other benefits aside from these ones that the nurse can enjoy these days. As long as the nurse knows these benefits, then the effort of continuing education for nurses in Canada will be worth it. The nurse can expect to enjoy these benefits after completing the said program.
