Information About Creating Dog Portraits From Photos

By Elena McDowell

People with pets can attest to the great company they get from them. Because of the love such people have for their pets, some want to create portraits of their favorite pets. For this reason, people want information on how to go about making dog portraits from photos which they can hang in their living rooms and many other places.

Before creating any portrait, the individual should have a pre visualization of how the representation will be when finished. Having an idea is the first process towards getting that good portrait. With the idea in mind, the individual should therefore consider the distinct characteristics of the do and how to with it to create a good image. Such characteristics can be; height, color, furriness of the dog among other qualities. All these will help the individual decide on a good background for the image.

A pet that takes commands will determine whether good photos will be taken or not. This is because the animal will be required to stay still so that snapshots can be taken. It can be frustrating having a pet that does not want to stand still therefore the individual will need to reposition it several times before getting good snapshots.

Some may decide to give the pet snacks in order to make it stand still. But this is not advisable as the individual will not be able to get snapshots of the face of the pet. Therefore the individual should have an assistant help him pose the animal in order to take the pictures. The photos should be taken from the level of the animal and not from a distance above or below.

The eyes should be the focus when taking the photos. This is because the eyes show the emotion of the pet and a person should ensure that it is not blurry. Another pose should be taken when the dog is alert, when sitting, lying down and standing. Apart from different poses, the photos should be in different angles. After getting the desired pictures, next is finding a frame for them.

The person should therefore conduct research on good frames to use for the pictures. This can be through researching over the internet or seeking help from professional photographers. With an appropriate frame, the individual should then print out a photo that fills the frame. Therefore are instances where people print very small photos of the animal just because they want the back ground to be seen.

Some people make the mistake of minimizing the image just because they want the background to be seen. But with a good dog portrait, even the background can be eliminated if need be. The lighting should also be clear and one can add effects where need be.

Using the guidelines above will ensure individuals are on the right track to making great dog portraits from photos. For those who may have problems completing the task, they can hire pet portrait artists to do the work. Such professionals can be found though the internet or recommendations.
